130 Cosmetics MSMEs Trained on Standards

February 14, 2023The West Africa Competitiveness Programme (WACOMP) – Ghana has organized two SMEs Clinics at the Hotel De Geogio in Techiman on 31st January and 1st February 2023 for entrepreneurs in the Bono, Brong and Ahafo regions.
The SMEs clinics was organized in the form of a consultative forum to provide professional advice to the SMEs on how to implement measures to enhance their competitiveness and trigger their growth to compete favourably on the domestic market and also take advantage of the international markets.
182 entrepreneurs were linked to various service providers, cluster management organizations and consultants to discuss the challenges they face in their businesses and how they can take advantage of the AfCFTA.
Participants were also provided with the opportunity to access free consultations on product registration and certification, product labelling, branding and packaging, export readiness, and sustainable business models, among others.
Representatives from the Techiman Business Resource Centre (BRC), Success for People Micro Finance, Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Access Bank Ghana Limited, Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), Ghana Standards Authority (GSA), Plant Pest and Disease Company Limited (PPEDCO), Nkoranza Kwabre Rural Bank, Fidelity Bank and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat readily offered their advisory services and briefed the entrepreneurs on what form of support they can offer them including making available contacts to easily reach for any form of assistance.
