March 4, 2022Exporting for Ghanaian Small and Medium-scale Enterprises (SMEs) can be extremely challenging, as they have to compete with several brands that are already well positions in the European market.
The project launched, on 9th of September 2021, a 12 weeks comprehensive cluster coaching training course to strengthe the competitiveness of small businesses in Ghana by ensuring field support from business coaches that can reach out to companies.
The first cohort of 37 coaches graduated on the 14th of December 2021, and the second cohort of 42 coaches graduated on the 24th of February 2022. So far 17 SMEs were coached (11 SMEs in cosmetics, 2 SMEs in cassava and 4 SMEs in fruits) and have improved on their cost calculation, budgeting, marketing, quality documentation, export documentation and packaging as a result of the coaching received.
